Air Force Research Laboratory

The mission of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is to discover, develop, integrate and deliver affordable technologies for improved warfighting capabilities. Formed in October 1997 as the product of an organizational consolidation that integrated previously separate Air Force laboratories (Armstrong, Phillips, Rome and Wright-Patterson) with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, AFRL consists of 10 directorates, situated across the country.

Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell Campus

Los Alamos National Laboratory

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) a Department of Energy laboratory, operated by Los Alamos National Security, LLC, is located in Los Alamos, NM, about 80 miles northwest of Albuquerque.  A unique partnership - Bechtel National, University of California, BWX Technologies, and Washington Group International - is the management and operating (M&O) contractor.  LANL is one of the largest institutions of its kind, employing more than 9,000 employees plus approximately 650 contractor personnel. The annual budget is approximately $2.2 billion.

National Center for Genome Resources

The National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a non-profit research institution dedicated to improving human health and nutrition through genome sequencing and analysis. Their vision is to pioneer the use of genome sequencing and analysis to improve treatment of diseases and nutrition. NCGR specializes in Biomarker Discovery in order to enable Personalized Medicine and Crop Improvement.

New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NM Tech) - Socorro

New Mexico Tech (officially, New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology) was founded in 1889 as the New Mexico School of Mines with its primary mission historically focused on mining technology.  Over the years, its mission has expanded, and it is now an outstanding research university, specializing in areas of science, engineering, and related fields. 

New Mexico Center for Isotopes in Medicine (NMCIM)

New Mexico State University - Main Campus - Las Cruces

The Santa Fe Institute (SFI)

The Santa Fe Institute (SFI) is a private, independent organization whose research seeks to understand complex systems through an interdisciplinary approach. The Institute attracts internationally-known scholars, including Nobel Laureates, to Santa Fe for its workshops and research programs.

Science & Technology Park @ UNM

The Science & Technology Park @ UNM is owned and managed by the University of New Mexico. The Park is comprised of 163 acres, 41 of which were developed during Phase I. Phase II has commenced with the development of an additional 42 acres. Future phases will encompass approximately 80 acres. The Park was established in 1965, revived in 1988, and today consists of 534,263 square feet of existing research & development, laboratory, office and mixed-use space. The tenant focus is on technology-based companies, many of which are the creation of the Science & Technology Corporation @ UNM, the University’s technology commercialization arm. Leasing and development options include land sales, ground leases, built-to-suit and space leases.

University of New Mexico - Main Campus - Albuquerque

Founded in 1889, the University of New Mexico now occupies 600 acres along old Route 66 in the heart of Albuquerque, a city of more than 780,000 people. From the magnificent mesas to the west, past the banks of the historic Rio Grande to the Sandia Mountains to the east, Albuquerque is a blend of culture and cuisine, styles and stories, people, pursuits and panoramas. 

University of New Mexico Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBME)

The UNM Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBME) was established in 2005 and is dedicated to addressing a critical education and economic development need in the State of New Mexico through the introduction of bioengineering as a new academic discipline.

University of New Mexico Center for Microengineered Materials (CMEM)

UNM’s CMEM was established in 1989 to serve as a focal point for advanced materials research.  CMEM, operates a National Science Foundation (NSF) supported Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC), the Ceramic and Composite Materials Center (CCMC).

University of New Mexico Center for High Performance Computing

The mission of the UNM Center for High Performance Computing (CHPC or HPC@UNM) is to amplify faculty led computing and data based research throughout the University of New Mexico.

University of New Mexico Manufacturing Training &Technology Center (MTTC)

Albuquerque’s Manufacturing Training and Technology Center (MTTC) is a 56,000 sq. ft. facility situated on the University of New Mexico (UNM) Science and Technology Park.  The MTTC houses offices for academic and commercial tenants, research and training facilities, prototyping bays, a 6,200 sq. ft. semiconductor cleanroom, an auditorium, and a cafe. 

UNM Node of the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN)

The National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN) is an integrated networked partnership of user facilities, supported by the National Science Foundation, serving the needs of nanoscale science, engineering and technology.  There are thirteen NNIN nodes at geographically distributed university locations within the United States.
